Look out Keady because our pupils are ‘Pedal Ready’ and keen to hit the streets!🚲
Some of our P5 and P6 pupils took part in Sustrans’ Bike Skills lesson, led by Dave Wiggins. First the boys and girls learned how to carry out the ‘ABCD’ check and the ‘pedal ready’ position on their bike.
They then set off for some basic skills training, learning how to cycle with full control of their bikes and how to perform the appropriate checks when cycling on the road.
Their steadiness and control was then put to the test in a series of games such as ‘Slow Races’ where the winner was the last to cross the finish line, and ‘Circle of Doom’ where the winner was the last to remain with 2 feet on the bike in the shrinking circle.
It is safe to say that the children had a fantastic morning!

D - Drop (check for no loose parts on the bike)
