World Book Day!
Today is World Book Day and to celebrate our love of reading in St Francis of Assisi Primary School, the children participated in a wide range of reading activities this week!
Our younger children paid a visit to Keady Library for story time sessions. They also studied some much loved stories in class and enjoyed story themed arts and crafts.
The children from P.4 -P.7 participated in a variety of book related tasks including a book week treasure hunt, quizz, writing blurbs and designing alternative story covers for their favourite stories, to name but a few.
The children from P.4 and P.5 also made bookmarks based on their favourite books and presented them to children in another class. While the children in P.6 and P.7 had great fun writing and illustrating their very own story books which they read to the children in the younger classes.
A lucky pupil from each class was also given the chance to win a book voucher which they can spend at our school book fair next month.
We hope your children will enjoy reading some of their favourite stories at home in the coming days and may even follow up World Book Day with a visit to Keady Library.
