No 'Butter' Way to Start the Day!
The boys and girls in Primary 6 had a busy start to the day yesterday as they made their own butter!
In class this term, the children will be transported back to the time of Vikings to learn about their way of life. This week they have been looking at the science behind Viking food. The children discovered how important dairy products were to the Viking diet and some of the tools they used to produce their foods.
The children used a different approach to the Vikings method of using milk and the old churners - instead they used jars and double cream to make their own butter. Not only did the children enjoy a fantastic morning of butter making but they also developed a new home workout to help build bigger biceps!
After checking our butter was set today the children have it away home and can't wait to try it out on a crisp sandwich at the weekend!
