Rang 3/4 treated us to a very informative assembly this morning about the celebrations of Harvest and Halloween. The children showed off their fabulous salt dough harvest baskets and taught us about the Irish origins of Samhain/Oíche Shamhna. We learned about old customs and traditions and of course about our own Orchard County and harvest time. 🍏🍎 We had some spooky tunes and fantastic artwork inspired by the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.🎃 Everyone left with ‘cúpla focal’. We will all be watching out for the cailleach 🧙♀️ and púca 👻! Maith sibh a pháistí 👏👏
